The Power of Unpredictability

I just got back from Brazil, where I attended a friend’s wedding. While I loved many things about the city, my absolute favorite was the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP).

Here’s why:

Some thoughts I’m still reflecting on…

Unexpected Presentation:

This was the first time I saw art displayed in such a unique way. Not just any art—fine art, classics, some of the most precious artifacts we have—suspended in the air. It allowed us to see the duality of a painting: the side that usually matters most and the one that’s typically hidden.

  • Unpredictability has a powerful way of exciting people and offering them a new perspective on something familiar.

  • The packaging of the art (gallery design) is just as important as the art itself (product).

  • Presentation embeds storytelling and personality.

I’ll be chewing on this more this week. A lot of meaning to unpack.

Hope this inspires you!
