You probably haven’t started that thing yet because…

Today I’d like to share a phrase my pastor shared with the VOUS staff that’s helped me recently:

"Commitment precedes resources."

What does it mean to me?

  • Start with what I’ve got

  • My commitment is more important than resources

  • My commitment itself will help generate the resources

  • My commitment will last longer in accountability / community

Sometimes, I don’t start because I don’t have it all figured out. "It's not perfect yet, I can improve it." Undo that mindset. It might lead to endless refinement rather than taking action. Most great things in life are figured out along the way.

Commit. Start. Go do.
