What No One Tells You About Balance

Today, I’d like to answer a question submitted through my Instagram channel, H@zy Talk.

@Kennedya.creative asked, "How do you balance everything…mom, Vous, personal brand, podcast, GIAD?"

Thank you for your question, Kennedy! I’m still figuring it out; he’s what’s worked for me.

I don't chase balance; I aim for alignment with seasons and rhythms. Balance feels unrealistic—it suggests an even grip on everything, which isn't sustainable. Life's full of variables beyond my control.

Life in seasons means cycles, beginnings, and ends. Right now, I'm in a season of building: myself, a marriage, a home, a child, a business.

To keep up with the season I’m in, I add rhythm to my days. Work hours and family time create a flow. I further break down my days to have designated activities. Here’s an example:

  • 7AM - 9AM: Family Time

  • 9AM - 2PM: Work (I try to also label my weekdays. Sample here.)

  • 2PM - 7PM: Family Time

  • 7PM+: I switch between personal time, hanging with Angel, or catching up on light work.

It's not foolproof, but it's my daily aim. It helps me stay focused.

Try it: Identify your season and add rhythm to sustain it.

Hope this helps! Thanks for the question.
